California Proposition 65 “Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act”
As of August 1, 2018 NTI Boilers is fully compliant with the most recent changes to California’s “Proposition 65” labeling law that will go into effect Sep. 1, 2018.
All boilers, combi furnaces and electric water heaters, will have the below warning label affixed:
- California Proposition 65 “Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act” was updated in 2016 with new regulations and a phase-in period expiring August 31, 2018. The law addresses chemicals known to the State of California to have the potential to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
- NTI Boilers uses warning labels on all affected products regardless of ship-to destination versus limiting to just California ship-to locations because of the ease users can obtain products from sources outside of California. Manufacturers have primary responsibility for compliance regardless of where products are purchased from.
